International Women’s Day Celebration / Current Students / Events / The University of Newcastle, Australia

Friday, 8 March is the global date for International Women’s Day. This year, the theme is #BalanceForBetter. IWD calls on students and staff to help forge a more gender-inclusive University and world. It’s a day to acknowledge and celebrate the significant attitudinal shift towards women’s equality and liberation, while also recognising there is still work to be done.

The University’s main celebration will be held on Thursday, 7 March at Park on the Hill from 11.30am – 2pm. Join us for live music and performances, a free BBQ and stalls.
