Health Professionals Research Education Program [HPREP] / Research and Innovation / Events / The University of Newcastle, Australia
The University of Newcastle [via Research Advantage] in collaboration with Hunter New England and the Central Coast Local Health District’s will deliver the Health Professionals Research Education Program [HPREP].
A series of presentations/seminars have been developed to run from March to November in 2019 – providing information and practical advice for our Clinician Researchers, Clinicians, Clinician Managers and Conjoints.
The first of four health specific information sessions will focus on consumer and community engagement.
This session is designed to build knowledge and capacity of health professionals conducting research to enhance and improve the involvement and engagement of consumers in research.
It will assist with building an understanding of what consumer engagement in research is; when and where it can occur, how best to engage consumers and why it is important. It will also highlight the significance of having a solid foundation to enable effective and meaningful consumer engagement processes.
Professor Billie Bonevski, National Working Group Member, Australian Health Research Alliance [AHRA] National Framework will provide an updateonbest practice models, international evidence and what’s happening in Australia regarding consumer and community engagement.
Hear first-hand examples and how concepts have been applied in a research project from a Consumer Representative.
